In Light of Scripture seeks to supplement the church in helping Christians live out the Great Commission by providing resources (articles, book reviews and kids’ movie talking points) to help people understand Scripture as well as aspects of culture in light of Scripture.

About Mike

Hi, and welcome to In Light of Scripture! I’m Mike McGregor, the main contributor to this Substack. I work as the Director of College Ministry at First Baptist Church in Durham, N.C. where I live with my wife and four kids.

A Baltimore native, I graduated from Towson University where I studied Mass Communication – Journalism. After college I served on staff with Young Life for eight years in Maryland. Following a pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C., I served on staff at Cheverly Baptist Church as a Pastoral Assistant. In the Spring of 2020 I earned an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary – D.C., and in the Summer of 2020 became the Director of College Ministry at First Baptist in Durham.

I am very happily married to my wife Kelly and we have four awesome kids. When I’m not working or blogging I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, golfing, listening to music, playing music, watching movies or sports, and running.
